The Daydreamer's LamentI long to close the gap
Between the realm of fiction and reality
And bring this lonely soul
A friend from the world I wish I lived in...

RememberMemories.

The thought worries me,
that I might just forget it all.
I'll forget the spontaneous times
where I would feel happy,
for really... no apparent reason.
I'm so scared,
that I'll wake up and
not remember anything,
and even if it means
losing the depressing memories -
I can't bear to let it go.
It shaped me into what I am today,
believe it or not -
all those sad, depressing memories.

And if I were to age and perhaps just
forget it all...
I would lose myself.
What would I do?

Who would I be?
Oh, sweet and painful memories -
please, never leave me.

Keeping secretsHave you ever cried yourself to sleep?
And if someone asked you that,
how would you answer?
Truth be told, I used to -
Just lie in bed and think,
think about every single thing
and how I felt about it...
what it meant to me.
But I'll just say no,
because I don't want you to know
about how weak I am.

And it is when all is silent,
the tears will slide slowly,
soaking your pillow.
Like a movie,
the scene plays out in your head
of all those times when you were
bullied, hurt,
damaged and broken.
Replayed and replayed until
all the images end up blur and disjointed.

Yes, I have - many times, in fact.

They say love is unconditionalThey say love is unconditional,
A family's love,
The love of a soul mate,
The love for a dear animal.
But love is only unconditional
If trust and hope stand together side by side.
If they are together,
The love will last forever.
But if I cannot trust,
And I cannot feel hope,
The love is doomed.

You Can't Tell MeYou can't tell me
that my writing is wrong.
It might be for you
But for me it will live, forever strong

You can't tell me
that my words are not right.
They might not be prefect
But I'll still put up a fight

You can't tell me
my rhymes are too mix-matched.
Its just because they are not yours
To me they do not lack

You can't tell me
I did not try my best.
Who are you to evaluate?
Its not like its a test

You can't tell me
that I didn't follow a rule.
Creativity has no list
I think you are a fool

You can't tell me
that I didn't emote at all.
How can you tell me what I feel?
Its not like I'm a doll

You cant tell me
everything that I should.
How can you think you know everything?
And think you know whats "good"?

I Have WalkedI have walked through hell.
I have pushed through its fires.
I have walked over needles and daggers with flaming arrows being fired.

I have walked through blizzards.
I have walked through freezing rain.
I have walked across thin ice and seen the cracks as it gives way.

I have walked over mountains.
I have felt their sharp edges.
I have stumbled over loose rocks and clung to the ledges.

I have walked the smooth paved roads,
And slipped on the smaller gravel paths too.
And felt the thorns tug at me as I pressed through the world to make a new.

But I have danced through meadows.
I have felt the soft grass underfoot.
The tingling of the summe

To contain them...Words are but emotion, finally contained.

AlwaysDo you see the water?
That used to be me
Flowing, oh so carefree
Leaving Mother Earth
Once in a while
(It was a heated disagreement)
But I come back
I always come back.

Do you see the skeleton?
That used to be me
Cold bones, white, bleached
In the sun
(It was only an accident)
So I stay
I always stay.

Do you see the lightning?
That used to be me
Oh, too late.
(It was a flash you know)
There's not enough time
There's always not enough time.

Do you see the blue marble?
That's where I am
Small, minute
You could block me out with your thumb.
Abundant yet lonely
I am always lonely.

Faults In Our StarsI’ll put our faults in the stars,
Constellations of us in the Milky Way
Guiding voyagers through the passages
Of our hearts and lungs and souls.

We can write our vows on the arms
Of Cassiopeia’s throne, sit in her place
And sip stardust, paint our eyes with the
Tails of comets and the songs of meteors
As they burn their way across our skin.

[We can hold the world in the palms
Of our hands]

The Greatest RiddleI'm riddled with sorrow,
I'm riddled with unease,
I'm riddled with illness,
I'm riddled with disease,
But mostly I'm riddled with the riddle
Of why I'm riddled with these.

UsColor of earth,
of fruit, the sun,
and every hue in-between.

Inside is red,
purple, black, green,
and colors without names.

Taste of salt,
of iron, rust,
thick nectar flows through the tunnels.

Made of cells,
proteins, amine, compounds,
and those of atoms tinier than the eye can see.

Walking towards death,
some run, some struggle,
others deny the earth is the end.

Six feet under,
worms, maggots, flies,
feast upon anyone with thoughtless mechanics.

The living continue,
ignoring, hurting, killing,
causing the pain they claim to hate.

Death ends this,
ends hate, war,
pointless battles of the living.

The Mirror Illustrious flickers
glinting the mirage of your insanity
Bright, vibrant;
I catch the waves
drifting silkily
in the air
You are a frog's tongue
enigmatically leaping-
charged.

But I, I am the mirror -
watching your joy
wistful and longing to take part
I am as the creek; lovingly massaging
the rock below

And while I am
but the mirror
I can see the darkness cast aside
I can see you shun
all but your wick;
I can see you shun your wax
For I am your mirror.

Gilded SeraphA gilded seraph waltzes atop a sunlit canvas of spring, and lives
a lone life with a turbulent heart, whose figure, still, fervently glows
before a fading sun. A dampened spirit, that grows colorless, but strives
for beauty even as her own depletes - and as her heart beat slows,
A black rose stems from shadows that dance with her golden aura.
Death marks the start of spring. and from the rose's lips a butterfly grows
Of glistening gold and fading black that tell of her sad story.

DystopiaWhat once was perfect now is not;

Built by dreams but destroyed by thought.

The people stop and turn to fight

Against what is wrong, but once was right.

Explosions commence and the ground, it shakes;

Waking the pit full of poisonous snakes

Towers rising to high above

Fall to rubble with one great shove.

With Death at the doorstep all reason has fled

Leaving the old ideals to lie there, dead.

With every glare to meet my eyes,
its another preying glare to slap my face
and another glare that heats my cheeks with nervous fire

I wonder if, day after day,
if people see my fear, if they see how I shake.
When they walk by, I stumble away
because I know they don't want me near them.

I wonder if they pity me
If they see the lonely child inside my glass skin.
Sometimes they give me gentle eyes
because they feel sorry for how lonley I really am inside.

I wonder if they know I don't fit in,
if they try to welcome me but I'm too naive to see.
But everytime I just walk away because-
because everytime I try is another crash and burn.

Isomnia.To the mocking flash of my cell phone clock
The glitter of morning my closed blinds block
In a hunch on a chair or a ball on my bed
Comfortable and comfy but I stay up instead
With paper and pens and paintbrushes I raise
And the stories that unfold on each turning page
Youtube, Facebook, and clicking links
Are the things that keep me from even a blink
Round and round, my thoughts echo and spin
Closing my eyes even seems like a sin
Redbull, pepsi, and midnight snacks
Drinks of sugar in tempting twelve packs
The silence of myself and the embrace of a book
Casting and reeling until sleep's on my hook
They say theres plenty of fish in the sea
But sleep swims deeper than my hook can see
Alone in a dimming desk lamp light
Confronted by morning that stepped through the night
Open curtains, birds with a morning song
It's a shame I had to wait this long.

A voice filtered upon arrival and spilled down the drain to wash away, carried to a place where rubbish seals any whisper left to fade.

Everybody misses a nail.
